20192 70 -- PHOTOGRAMMETRIC PRODUCTION SYSTEM POC Contact Amanda Goodwin
(703)648-7372 or Contracting Officer Sharon McDowell (703)648-7375 In
1999 the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) purchased three photogrammetric
production systems from Intergraph Corporation. Now, the USGS intends
to purchase a fourth system on a non-competitive basis from Intergraph
Corporation. The USGS is conducting market research with regard to the
acquisition of a supplemental system to be interfaced with existing
Intergraph manufactured components located at USGS facilities in Menlo
Park, California. Based on information available at this time, the
USGS considers the required systems to be sole-source and plans to
enter into non-competitive discussions with Intergraph Corporation of
Huntsville, Alabama. The system must provide a complete photogrammetric
production system that offers a fully integrated, scalable, Y2K
compliant solution with an open systems architecture. Due to unique
imagery scanning requirements, the Intergraph manufactured image
scanning subsystem (Intergraph PS-1) will be retained for integration
into the system. The system shall electronically receive, ingest and
process scanned hardcopy commercial frame imagery in a proprietary
Intergraph format from the image scanning subsystem. The system shall
ingest imagery and support data structures associated with softcopy
data; perform triangulation; orthorectify/mosaic image data to produce
Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles (DOQ) meeting the USGS Standards for
Digital Orthophotos, Version Dated December 1996; digital orthophotos
meeting user defined parameters; assess accuracy for compliance to
National Map Accuracy Standards; automatically apply the appropriate
names to DOQ products using the USGS Geographic Names Information
System Geographic Cell Names Database; and interface with a local area
network via Fast Ethernet (100mpbs). Any responses to this synopsis
should contain sufficient technical documentation and descriptive
literature to sufficiently describe system capabilities. All responses
will be evaluated to determine whether that firm has full knowledge
and capabilities to meet the USGS' requirement for successful
implementation of the replacement system. Neither a draft statement of
work nor specifications are available. The Government will not pay for
information provided in response to this synopsis. This notice may
represent the Governments only official notice of this procurement. All
responses to this request must be received by close of business June 9,
2000. Posted 05/19/00 (W-SN456458). (0140) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0241 20000523\70-0006.SOL)
