NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 1 EACH STEP AP-209 INTERFACE (FEM) TO THERMAL DESKTOP (TD); 1 EACH THERMAL DESKTOP HEAT LOADS OUTPUT IN PATRAN TEXT FILE FORMAT; 1 EACH COMPLETE STEP-TAS INTERFACE AS NLICENSES OPTION IN TD, ALLOWING ACCESS TO TRASYS MODELS. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from CULLIMORE AND RING TECHNOLOGIES AS THE SOLE PROPRIETOR OF THESE SOFTWARE PROGRAMS CURRENTLY PERFORMING THERMAL AND ORBITAL/RADIATION ANALYSES AT LANGLEY RESEARCH CENTER AND OTHER NASA CENTERS. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on MAY 24, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
