The panels will be used for coupon pull/peel-off tests and for a large integrated panel test at the Cryogenic Pressure Box Test (CPB) Facility. The specimen shall be a fabricated using Graphite-Epoxy IM7/977-2 (Gr-Ep) tape and fabric. The specimens shall be hand laid-up, co-bonded using FM300 film adhesive and cured in an autoclave for adequate consolidation. The Contractor shall purchase all materials (IM7/977 Gr-Ep and FM300 Adhesive, 6-8 week delivery). The Contractor shall fabricate all required tooling and shall follow the design drawings developed by LaRC. A full set of complete design drawing will be provided to the awarded Contractor. Only design sketches are available at the present time. The CPB panel shall be approximately 65 in. by 76 in. and shall have external I-stiffeners. All of the test panels will be subjected to combined thermal and mechanical loading at LaRC. The stringers shall be co-bonded to a flat Gr-Ep panel for the coupon pull/peel off specimens and a curved Gr-Ep panel for the CPB panel using FM 300 film adhesive Tolerances shall be +/- 0.005 in.. The panels are: A. (24 each) Coupons for pull/peel-off tests with a design similar to the curved Gr-Ep panel (see attached peel/pull off specimen drawing), B. (1 each) plan form 65 in. by 76 in. curved 156 in. radius Gr-Ep cryogenic pressure box panel. Deliverables: 1) The Contractor shall deliver biweekly reports on progress of work completed. 2) The Contractor shall participate in bi-weekly teleconferences with the NASA Technical Monitor. 3) The Contractor shall deliver the panels by 7/21/00 and the curved panel by 8/25/00.
