J -- PRESOLICITATION CONFERENCE FOR VA NATIONAL ACQUISITION CENTER MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE & REPAIR PROCUREMENT POC Karen A. The conference time is 9:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m., local time (CST). The conference is being held at the VA National Acquisition Center Bldg. 37-Room 133, 1st Ave. 1 block north of Cermak, Hines, Illinois 60141. The subject of the conference will be a national Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) for Medical Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services. These services will include both corrective and preventive maintenance services. The initial focal point of this procurement will be on Diagnostic Imaging Equipment. The purpose of the meeting will be to obtain industry participation in the identification and resolution of potential concerns regarding the draft Statement of Work. Parties capable of providing medical equipment maintenance and repair services are invited and encouraged to participate. Industry input and comments are requested to ensure a solicitation document that will maximize competition and resultin a best value procurement. The draft Statement of Work will be mailed to all interested parties. The draft Statement of Work will be available for release on or about May 19th. Requests received from the Potential Sources Sought notice published on January 11, 2000 need not respond as the draft Statement of Work will automatically be forwarded to these firms. New requests for the draft statement of work may be sent to the attention of Karen A. Law, Contract Specialist (90NM), VA National Acquisition Center, P. O. Box 76, Bldg. 37, Hines, Il 60141. VANAC intends to issue a finalized solicitation and/or a notice of issuance on or about June 30, 2000. The National Acquisition Center is located in Building 37 on the Edward Hines, Jr., VA Hospital complex at Hines, IL. The complex is located approximately 11 miles west of the Chicago Loop. The most direct route to the NAC is via the Eisenhower Expressway (Route 290) to 1st Avenue approximately 6-1/2 blocks (three stoplights) and turn right at the gate.
