PROCUREMENT OF WIRE ROPE FOR USNS SIOUX (TATF 171), RFQ
N31980-00-Q-4184 DUE 16 May 2000, 1500 P.M, local time. Point of

619-553-7774. This procurement is unrestricted, and issued as a
combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures
for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation
N31980-00-Q-4184 applies and is issued as a Request for Quotation. This
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. The standard
industrial classification code is 3499 and the business size standard
is 500 employees. This requirement is for a fixed priced contract for
one (1) line item as follows: Line Item 0001: Quantity 2,500 Feet; Item
description: Wire Rope, 2-1/4" IPS Polypropylene Fiber Core, Type I,
Class 3, 6 x 37 Class, Reg Right Hand Lay (Coated) Galvanized, 2,500 FT
Continuous. Provide Data and certification of wire rope. Wire rope
shall have closed Zinc Poured Socket on one end and a permanent seizing
on the other end. Closed socket shall be Type B, in accordance with
Spec RR-S550. Provide certification of the installer of the poured
socket. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to: Military Sealift Command,
Pacific, BATS, 9284 Balboa Avenue, USNS SIOUX (T-ATF 171), San Diego,
CA 92193. Deliver to MSCP BATS no later than 2 June 2000. The provision
at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items applies.
Addendum to FAR 52.212-1: Paragraph (b)(4), Technical Description
Substitute "Descriptive Literature" for "technical description";
Paragraph (h), Multiple Awards, delete the entire paragraph. Substitute
"Single Award. The Government plans to award a single contract
resulting from this solicitation. The provision FAR 52.214-21,
Descriptive Literature applies. To determine technical acceptability of
the proposed product, offerors shall submit as part of their proposal,
Descriptive Literature of the product being offered. Government Credit
Purchase Card (GPC) will be used as a payment method for this contract.
Payments by GCPC shall not exceed $100,000 per invoice. Invoice
submission shall be specified in the contract award document. The
provision at FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation Commercial Items applies. The
Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to
the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will
be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors
considered. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the
