Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has the requirement for Guard Services at the National Animal Disease Center, at Ames, IA for the period October 1, 2000 thru September 30, 2001 with four (4) one-year renewable option periods. The work includes, but is not limited to: Services, 24 hours per day, seven days per week; Supervision of Contractor Employees; Quality Control; Contractor Furnished Uniforms and Equipment; Minimum Standards for Contractor Employees such as Education and Experience, Literacy, Health Requirements, Suitability Determinations, Employee Clearance Forms, and Conduct of Contractor Employees; Training; Equipment Observation; Specialized Services; Emergencies; Entry Control; Patrols; Equipment Operation; Flag Duty; Utility Conservation; Reports; and Switchboard Operator Duties. Guards will not be required to carry sidearms. This solicitation will be issued as a Commercial Items Request for Proposal in accordance with FAR Part 12. The Service Contract Act applies to this acquisition. This acquisition is 100% Set-Aside for Small Businesses.
