Modification of combined synopsis/solicitation : CLARIFICATIONS:
Request for clarifications was received on April 28, 2000. The
following questions and responses are provided for all competing
parties: Question # 1) The wash tank will be an ultrasonic cleaning
tank that is often referred to as a wash tank. The rinse tank can be
interpreted two ways. Is the rinse tank a "lubricant tank that needs
ultrasonics" or "a non-ultrasonic rinse tank with pump assistance" or
"a non-ultrasonic rinse tank without pump assistance"? Answer: A
non-ultrasonic rinse tank with pump assistance. Question # 2) Is there
a weir sparger required in "only the wash tank" or "in both wash and
rinse tanks"? Answer: Only the wash tank. Question # 3) How many parts
basket are required? Answer: Two. Question # 4) Which is more
advantageous to the end user, having electrical and valves placed on
the left or right side? Answer: Right. Question # 5) Should the rinse
tank be equipped with Ultrasonics, Heat or Filter System? Answer:
Filter System. Question # 6) The RFQ request a dual wash/rinse system.
Can you elaborate on specifically what the system should consist of
and specify which tanks have the need for ultrasonics. Answer: One tank
of 100 gallons with separate wash and rinse divider. Wash tank must be
ultrasonic. Question # 7) The industry standard for delivering "bench
top" ultrasonics is 30 days. The industry standard to deliver the dual
chamber specified is 6 to 8 weeks after receipt of order. Can the
delivery time be extended ? Answer: Delivery time requirement is hereby
changed to read 60 calendar days after receipt of order. Question # 8)
Would a site visit be possible ? Answer: A site visit will not be
provided. The system must be capable of passing through a 36 inch
doorway. Question # 9) Which is required, "factory assisted set up" or
" factory required set up and installation" and can you explain what
all is involved? Answer: We are requesting factory assisted
installation from the vendor to include the following: a) system start
up b) final installation inspection c) a four hour on-site training
class in use and function of the system. The Bureau of Prisons shall
provide receiving, set up and electrification of the system.
SOLICITATION AMENDMENT: Change (xvi) to read "Quote submission date
4:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 18, 2000". NO OTHER CHANGES Posted 05/04/00
