Center-Washington on behalf of the US Army Communications Electronics
Command (CECOM), Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate
(NVESD), Humanitarian Demining Office intends to negotiate a Cost Plus
Fixed Fee contract with Concept Engineering Group, Inc., of Verona
PA., for development, demonstration, test and delivery of technological
improvements and modifications for the Supersonic Air Spade Demining
System. The Supersonic Air Spade developed by Concept Engineering
Group, is capable of excavating landmines without detonating them by
using compressed air at supersonic velocity. Specifically the Army will
test an take delivery of 2 enhanced cart mounted Air Spades (Model CGP
30/150), 2 enhanced vehicle mounted Air Spades (SAFEX Jr. Model SGSV
60/150/300) and a set of air powered accessory tools for brush and root
cutting. The duration of this effort is 10 months. The statutory
authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304
(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services
