This procurement is for the creation of a database with verified diagnoses of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) from two existing Nurses Health Study Cohorts (1 -- 1976- 1996 and 2 -- 1989- 1993) by Brigham and Women's Hospital. The information provided will be used to examine the potential relationship between nutritional status, autoimmunity, and immune function on the risk of developing SLE in humans as well as improving our understanding of this rare autoimmune disease.
