This procurement is for the creation of a database with verified diagnoses of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) from two existing Nurses Health Study Cohorts (1 -- 1976- 1996 and 2 -- 1989- 1993) by Brigham and Women's Hospital. The information provided will be used to examine the potential relationship between nutritional status, autoimmunity, and immune function on the risk of developing SLE in humans as well as improving our understanding of this rare autoimmune disease. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 5 days of this notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technicalliterature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Brigham and Women's Hospital.
