intends to award a non-personal services contract to provide Urology
Medical Services to the inmate population at the Federal Medical
Center, Lexington, Kentucky. Duties include: provide diagnostic
evaluations, recommend treatment, and perform urology procedures for
patients presented with prostatic cancer, hematuria, cystis, urinary
retention / incontinence, as well as other diagnoses as requested by
FMC medical staff. Individual requirements include: Contract
Physician(s) must be a graduate of an AMA Accredited Medical School,
must have successfully completed an AMA approved internship/residency
program in Urology, possess current state licensure to practice
medicine without restrictions, and be board certified in Urology. Due
to the nature of this contract, all individuals working within the
confines of the institution will be required to submit to security
clearances. This will be a competitive procurement with award being
made to the offeror determined to be in the best interest of the
Government with price and other factors considered. The base year will
run for twelve months from the date of award with four (4) option
periods for renewal. Anticipated date of award is July 31, 2000, with
contract performance anticipated to begin December 1, 2000. It is
anticipated this solicitation will be mailed approximately May 15, 2000
with an anticipated due date of June 14, 2000. It is anticipated that
this solicitation will result in a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Quantity
type contract with a minimum of 12 sessions and an estimated maximum of
36 sessions in a twelve-month period. Each session is defined as four
hours in length. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business
concerns. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be
