NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Ultrasonic Spectroscopy System to include the following: ITEM 1: ULTRASPEC MODE 1A ULTRASONIC SPECTROSCOPY SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES: ARBITRARY WAVEFORM GENERATOR; POWER AMPLIFIER MODULE; RECEIVER DIGITIZER (FREQUENCY RANGE 10KHZ-8 MHZ); UNIT WILL HAVE A VGA MONITOR EXTERNAL CAPABILITY; SIGNAL SCREEN WITH TIME DOMAIN GRAPHS, BONDING SCREEN WITH FREQUENCY SPECTRUM AND RESONANCE SPACINGS GRAPHS AND CORROSION SCREEN WITH FREQUENCY SPECTRUM; THICKNESS GAGE; SURFACE ROUGHNESS GAGE; SPECIAL -115 CM10G1 10 MHZ CONTACT TRANSDUCER; SENSOR CABLE, 2 METER BNC-MICRODOT; USERS MANUAL; DUAL SENSOR HOLDER SAMPLES, SQUIRT BOTTLE. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from QA TECHNOLOGIES INC., PO BOX 61085, SAVANNAH, GA 31420. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 3, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
