NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Programmable Logic Controlers to include 10 slot chassis, chassis interconnect cable, power supply, 5/05 processor, 16 point fast response 24VDC input, 16 point general purpose 24VDC output, 32 point low current DC output, 32 point general purpose 24VDC input, 4 point isolated analog output, 4 point isolated analog input, 8 point isolated relay output, and 16 point TTL input. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/SSC intends to purchase the items from Stewart C. Irby Co., P. O. Box 996, Pascagoula, MS 39567 under the authority of 13 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 2, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
