S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH THE WESTERN PACIFIC REGINOAL FISHERY MANAGEMENT COUNCIL. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council (WPRFMC) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of contract is to provide support planning, organization, management, and acquisition of critical support services for the INternational Marine Debris Conference to be held in Honolulu, HI from 8/6/00-8/11/00. The WPRFMC is one of eight councils created under the Magnuson-Stevens Act to manage the nation's fisheries. The WPRFMC is also the leading representative of US domestic fishing interests in the region. Further the WPRFMC has electronic database of interested parties (mainly commercial fishermen) in the Pacific Rim area which no other source has access to. Public solicitation will not be issued.
