COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 17,2000 PSA#2580INVITATION TO EXHIBIT AT THE HCFA/DOJ FRAUD AND ABUSE TECHNOLOGY
CONFERENCE CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION: On June 26-28, 2000, the Health Care
Financing Administration (HCFA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ)
will host an electronic fraud and abuse technology conference entitled
"Combating Health Care Fraud and Abuse: Technologies and Approaches
for the 21st Century." This event will take place at the DoubleTree
Hotel National Airport, 300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA 22202.
Please see the information at the bottom of this announcement for
point-of-contact (Ann Holliday) concerning this conference. Open only
to Federal and state government officials and their agents, the
conference is designed to serve as an information exchange forum on
electronic tools, analytical techniques, and approaches that will
enable stakeholders to enhance their success in combating fraud and
abuse in public health care programs. CONFERENCE EXHIBITS: A
significant portion of this conference will be devoted to exhibits of
information technology-based products that could potentially be used to
combat fraud and abuse in the Medicare, Medicaid and other Federal
health care programs. Specifically, HCFA/DOJ is interested in products
that fall into one or more of the following categories: (1) health
care fraud and abuse detection and analysis solutions; (2)
comprehensive health care data analysis solutions; (3) fraud and abuse
solutions currently used in other industries;(4) solutions that
address the core technical requirements of HCFA's current approach to
combating fraud and abuse (e.g., efficient storage, retrieval and
manipulation of large data sets; enterprise reporting; complex
statistical analysis; etc.); and (5) solutions that may dictate
entirely alternative or complementary approaches to Medicare or
Medicaid fraud and abuse detection, analysis and prevention. EXHIBIT
INFORMATION: If your organization has developed an information
technology-based product(s) that could potentially be used to combat
fraud and abuse in public health care programs, HCFA/DOJ cordially
invites you to exhibit your product(s) to government decisionmakers
during this exciting conference. Table-top exhibit spaces are available
to interested organizations on a first-come, first-served basis for
$800 each. Due to a limited number of spaces, exhibitors will be
limited to one space each. To maximize exhibitor exposure, there are a
number of functions that will draw conference attendees to your booth
including morning and afternoon breaks, and an evening reception in
the exhibit hall on June 26, 2000. Universities, government agencies,
foundations, associations, and other non-traditional vendor
organizations that possess products or technologies with potential
application in this area are encouraged to participate. Exhibit
registration cutoff is June 2, 2000. For more information about
exhibiting at this event or to register, please contact Ann Holliday
