notice of intent from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to procure,
on an other than full and open competitive basis, service maintenance
for a four circle Bruker model P4 automatic diffractometer; a Bruker
Smart 1k CCD mounted on a P4 system; and a Bruker Smart 6000 CCD system
from BRUKER AXSINC, 5465 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. The
contractor shall provide more than one qualified service engineer to
perform the full service maintenance including preventive, repair
and/or replacement of all failed parts, to maintain the performance at
original specifications for a Bruker P4 diffractometer system, S/N
1008, excluding LT2 low temperature apparatus and government owned ADP
equipment; a Bruker Smart 1k CCD with P4 diffractometer sytem, S/N
1640/1009, excluding LT2 low temperature apparatus and government owned
ADP equipment; and a Bruker Smart 6k CCD system excluding the detector,
the LT2 low temperature apparatus and government owned ADP equipment..
The contractor shall provide preventive maintenance of one call per
year to be scheduled by the Technical Manager (TM). The contractor's
trained engineer shall inspect, clean, make minor adjustments, verify
the operation, perform general systems tests, and take the necessary
actions to ensure that the equipment are functioning properly. The
contractor shall also provide emergency service calls as required by
the Technical Manager (TM) within 32 working hours of request. All
replacement parts or repair of failed parts (except x-ray tubes and
anodes, computers, peripherals, water chillers and consumables) to
maintain systems performance at original specifications, shall be
provided by the contractor. All services are to be performed during the
hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding
Government holidays) at the Naval Research Laboratory, 4555 Overlook
Ave., S.W., Washington, D.C. 20375-5000. The contract shall be for one
year with four option years. The required period of performance for
base year is 01 OCT 2000 through 30 SEP 2001. Numbered Note 22 applies.
