Potential Sources Sought for certified 8(a) firms interested in submitting a proposal for an upcoming Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements (SABER) Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract at Homestead Air Reserve Station, Miami-Dade County, Homestead, Florida. The base is located approximately thirty miles south of Miami, FL. This will be a competitive 8(a) acquisition limited to the SBA South Florida District. Only offers from 8(a) firms having a bonafide office located within that geographic area of competition shall be evaluated. This contract will include a broad variety of individual construction tasks orders to include, but not limited to alterations, maintenance, repair and minor construction of various base facilities as identified in the Unit Price Book (UPB). During the contract period, the BASE CIVIL ENGINEER (BCE) will identify construction tasks required to complete each specific job, and Operational Contracting will negotiate and issue individual delivery orders. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials, equipment, and personnel necessary to manage and accomplish the project. An office will be provided on base for the contractor_s convenience, but there is no requirement to man the office at all times. The contractor is required to respond within 24 hours of notification in order to receive new tasks and to provide other management services related to accomplishing individual projects. Individual projects will vary in size and complexity. The jobs will include tasks in a variety of trades, including carpentry, road repair, roofing, excavating, interior electrical, steam fitting, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, demolition, concrete masonry, and welding. The government anticipates significant subcontracting under the SABER contract. The guaranteed contract minimum is $200,000 for the life of the contract, and the proposed maximum is $800,000 per contract period. SIC code for this project is 1542. The average value of SABER tasks orders under the current SABER contract at Homestead ARS, FL was $83,208.80 per year, for the period 1995-2000. Award will be accomplished by Best Value.
