(803) 895-6000 DESC: MARKET RESEARCH: This publication is a sources
sought synopsis, which will be utilized as a market research tool.
INTERESTED PARTIES RESPOND BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS: 16 APR 2000. The
Government is soliciting for sources to provide qualified Explosive
Detector Dog Handlers (EDDH), and Explosive Detector Dogs (EDD). EDDs
must be able to detect a wide range of explosives with a minimum of a
95% accuracy find rate. EDDHs must be fully qualified Dog Handlers who
possess or have the ability to possess, a US SECRET clearance. Both
Dog and Handler must meet medical requirements associated with Law
Enforcement duties. Dog Teams must be able to perform duties at various
locations located throughout the world for extended periods of time
(120 days plus at various locations in Southwest Asia). The purpose of
this notice is to identify and establish initial interest and points
of contact from private industry. This information may be used to
prepare a prospective offeror_s list and design acquisition strategy to
include socioeconomic program support. It may also help to
identify/establish commercial practices available to the Government.
Any responses to this notice should include the following: Company
Name, Point of Contract, Address, Telephone and FAX numbers, E-mail
address, Brief Description of Company/Capabilities, Experience Areas,
Size, History, DUNS number, Cage Code and/or Tax ID Number, and
Large/Small Business Category. Include any suggestions on what your
firm would consider standard commercial practices. Provide any
supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues,
manuals, etc. No solicitation will be issued at this time.
Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or
obligation to be incurred by the Government. The Government will in no
way be obligated to lease all or part of the items described above,
and is providing this information as _general_ information only. The
Government will in no way be bound to this information if any
solicitation is issued. Notice to Potential Offerors: All offerors who
provide goods or services to the Department of Defense (DoD) must be
