Craig, Contracting Officer 410-278-6517 The contractor shall obtain a data base for the sliding friction coefficient at projectile velocities ranging up to 7 km/s using various projectile materials and tube parameters. The contractor shall seek conditions to minimize sliding friction for application to Slingatron launch. The contractor shall also provide technical input to the analyses being conducted by ARL and NASA. Period of Performance shall be 03 April thru 30 September 2000. It is the intent of the Government to award a contract on a sole source basis to UTRON, Inc., Manassas, VA pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The proposed contract action is for Scientific Study and Report concerning Slingatron dynamics which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a arequest for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
