Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for two projects at the Los Angeles Bulk Mail Center located in Bell, CA. The first project includes asbestos abatement of existing floor tile and installation of new vinyl composite tile at specific rooms on the first, second, and third floors of the building. The second project includes duct cleaning of all ductwork, air handlers, diffusers, etc. within the building. The contractor will have to perform work over operating conveyor belt system and will require extensive scaffolding over 30' high in the workroom area above existing equipment. The contractor will be required to perform extensive coordination with USPS facility staff to perform work. The facility is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therefore, the contractor will be required to work premium time to facilitate the work in the least disruptive manner to the Postal Service. The work is to be completed in 180 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $270,000-$300,000. This is a postal-owned facility. The proposal must contain the offeror's overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for such items will be made after contract award.
