Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for good quality alfalfa hay to
be delivered on a monthly basis, or more frequently if needed, to the
BLM Wild Horse and Burro Facility in Elm Creek, Nebraska. Due to
minimum storage capacity at the facility, BLM will need monthly
shipments of large round bales and small square bales, in sufficient
quantity to feed approximately 600 wild horses and burros who may
consume an estimated 7.5 tons of hay per day, or 225 tons per month.
The estimated yearly amount of hay needed is approximately 2,700 tons
over a 12-month period. The term of this contract will be 12 months
from date of contract award. Potential contractors shall maintain
adequate sources of good quality alfalfa hay in order to fulfill the
requirements of this contract throughout the contract year. This
procurement is 100% set-aside for small business. Solicitation
