Walter Reed Army Medical Center is seeking sources which would be
capable of acting as the "Prime Vendor" contractor responsible for
being the Single Point Distributor of commercially available
off-the-shelf dental supplies and equipment. Deliveries will be made to
over 100 ordering sites within the Army Dental Command to include
Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Europe, Japan
and Korea. The Contractor will be responsible for establishing and
maintaining an on-line catalog of all commercial items covered by the
contract. The Government will establish the Distribution and Pricing
Agreement (DAPA) with dental suppliers and manufacturers. Under the
DAPA, the suppliers & manufacturers agree to allow the Prime Vendor
selected by the Government to distribute their products to US Army
Dental Clinics. As a minimum, the catalog shall include product
descriptions, brand names, manufacturers,model numbers, mfg part
numbers, delivery time and delivered price. The contractor shall be
responsible for delivery of all emergency supplies within one-day of
receipt of an order in 100% of the cases and deliver all non-emergency
orders within 72 hours of receipt of the order. All bio-hazardous
supplies shall be delivered in accordance with OSHA standards. Payment
for all orders up to $25,000 will be made by Government credit card.
For informational purposes, our current contract with Henry Schien
expires on 13 October 2000 and it is the intention of the Government to
award a follow-on Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract
with an effective date of 14 October 2000 for an initial year and four
one-year options. Interested firms should submit a statement
expressing their interest in supporting this requirement for world-wide
distribution of dental supplies and equipment. Briefly address this
requirement such that the Government can evaluate your understanding of
the management structure needed to successfully perform this contract.
Also, describe the Internet Ordering System which you will utilize to
facilitate the ordering process between the Prime Vendor Contractor
and the Government ordering sites. Additionally, please furnish your
business size based on a SIC Code: 3843 with a standard of 500
employees, and whether you are a manufacturer or dealer. Responses
