The Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) intends to competitively award a contract for Research and Development (R&D), production, fielding, and logistic support for the U.S. Army's Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Tactical Proficiency Trainer (IEWTPT). The system will enable realistic intelligence training at the operator and battle command levels. Two previous CBD announcements (July and October 1999) gave the public preliminary notification of this requirement. This notice is the official Pre-Solicitation notice required in FAR Part 5. Anticipated contract type will be a combination of CPIF and FFP for the R&D phase, and FFP for production and logistics support. Interested parties are directed to the following web site for all information pertaining to this solicitation: http://www.stricom.army.mil/PRODUCTS/IEWTPT. No hard copies of the solicitation will be made available. However, there will be classified documents that are not releasable over the web. Parties desiring to see these documents will be required to follow procedures established in the solicitation and review the documents in Government libraries located in Orlando, Florida. There are currently several documents on the web site. Release of the draft RFP is anticipated for late February/early March 2000 and release of the final solicitation is anticipated for mid March 2000.
