ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT ONE (1) TO SOLICITATION NUMBER
SSA-RFP-00-0192 FOR ON-SITE CARPENTRY SERVICES AT THE SOCIAL SECURITY
ADMINISTRATION (SSA) IN BALTIMORE, MD. The purpose of this amendment is
to: 1) extend the due date for receipt of offers in response to the
solicitation; 2) amend certain sections of the original solicitation;
and 3) provide responses to questions received from the vendor
community. EXTENSION TO DUE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF OFFERS: The date set
for receipt of offers in response to this solicitation is hereby
extended to 3:00 p.m. (local prevailing time) February 23, 2000.
AMENDMENT TO THE SOLICITATION: The following sections of the original
solicitation announcement are hereby amended: UNIFORMS AND SAFETY
SHOES: This section is changed to read as follows: UNIFORMS AND SAFETY
EQUIPMENT: All contractor employees shall wear distinctive uniforms
which are professional in appearance and which bear the contractor_s
logo on the uniform shirt. All employees shall be in uniformnot later
than 10 Federal work days after the date the employee first begins work
on the contract. The contractor shall be responsible for outfitting its
employees with appropriate safety equipment (e.g. safety shoes) in
order to fully comply with OSHA requirements for this type of work.
GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED SPACE AND PROPERTY: This section is amended to
read as follows: In addition to adequate and appropriate work space,
the Government will furnish all supplies, utilities, and hand and power
equipment necessary for performance of the contract, except for those
small hand tools outlined elsewhere. The Government will also furnish
goggles, masks for welding, and earplugs. The contractor shall be
liable for any damage or loss of Government property to the extent of
repair or replacement costs, whichever is appropriate. TERMS AND
CONDITIONS: This section is amended to delete the reference to Wage
Determination Number 94-2247 (Rev. 15) dtd 6/1/99 and insert in its
place Wage Determination Number 94-2248 (Rev. 13) dtd 8/10/99. NOTE:
