F -- MASTICATION SITE PREPARATION AND TREE THINNING SOL RFQ-17-00-14 DUE 041200 POC Tahoe National Forest, Fax Machine 530-478-6126 The intent of this solicitation is to secure services for mastication of slash, vegetative debris, brush and undesireable trees in order to prepare areas for tree planting and thinning of residual stands of conifers and hardwoods according to contract specifications. This will be accomplished using low ground pressure type equipment with weight not to exceed 16 tons gross, ground pressure shall not exceed a maximum of 6 psi, machine width maximum shall not exceed 10.5 feet, pivot operator cab, engine and attachment arm shall be able to swing 360 degrees while the working base remains stationary. The reach attachment arm shall have a minimum reach of 25 feet. This project consists of 7units, approximately 125 acres. Estimated start work date 07/17/2000, contract time 40 days.
