Reduction Agency (DTRA) has a requirement to eliminate 10 SS-N-20
missiles by nozzleless open burn in Russia. The services required
include the following major efforts: (1) the renovation of the
facilities and infrastructure necessary to transport, dismantle, and
burn the motors of 10 SS-N-20 SLBMs; (2) the transport of the 10
SS-N-20 SLBMs from MSKh Nenoksa to the Zlatoust Machinery Plant; (3)
the dismantlement of the 10 SS-N-20 SLBMs at Zlatoust; (4) the
transport of the motors from the 10 SS-N-20 SLBMs from Zlatoust to
FNPTs Altai; and (5) the preparation and burning of the cruise stage
motors, solid propellant hot-gas generators, and auxiliary-motor
solid-fuel charges on stands at FNPTs Altai. DTRA plans to award a sole
source contract to the Academician V.P. Makeev Design Bureau, Republic
of Russia. The Academician V.P. Makeev Design Bureau was identified by
the Ministry of Economics Russian Federation as the only contractor
with the necessary data, permits, and licenses to conduct this effort.
