Notice of intent to issue a sole source contract to Mr. Bart Kenworth to create a bronze duplicate of the Robert E. Bush, Medal of Honor Winner statue. The duplicate wax sculpture will require bronze casting, with bronze plaques and mounting surface. The statue is an exact duplicate of an existing statue. Mr. Kenworth is the artist of the original statue that is being duplicated and Mr. Kenworth holds a copyright on this statue. This procurement is for a unique product and Mr. Kenworth has specialized knowledge, skill and artistic ability in connection with this statue. The statue is needed in a short time frame because it will be presented at a dedication ceremony in honor of Robert E. Bush, the subject of the statue, at the Naval Hospital at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA. Required delivery date is 1 April 2000, FOB destination. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Interested parties shall furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the same statue, including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available, to the Contracting Office NLT 31 Jan 99, otherwise an order will be placed with the above named contractor.
