K -- MODIFICATION OF AN/ARC-210 ELECTRONIC PROTECTION RADIO EQUIPMENT POC Kevin Faughnan, Contract Specialist, Fax (301) 7575955 The Naval Air Systems Command, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA-209), intends to issue a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-98-G-0121 to Rockwell Collins Government Systems (RCGS) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The modification will be for procurement of supplies and technical services necessary to convert approximately 24 RT-1556/ARC's baseline to RT-1556A/ARC's baseline in support of the AV-8B aircraft. The conversion of RT-1556 units to the RT-1556A configuration, which already exists in the AN/ARC-210 (V) family of equipment, will include any hardware and/or software modifications required to provide interoperability on 8.33 KHz European Air Traffic Control (ATC) channels in the 118.000 MHz to 136.75 MHz band. The resulting RT-1556A radio will provide interoperability on 8.33 KHz ATC channels based on the guidelines of EUROCAE specification ED-23B, in addition to the baseline functions of the RT-1556 radio. RCGS is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the AN/ARC-210 Electronic Protection (EP) radio equipment, and is the only firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, and experience to perform this effort within the required time frame.
