The U.S. Geological Survey's Patuxent Wildlife Research Center and Fish and Wildlife Services' Patuxent Research Refuge (Patuxent) in Laurel, Maryland have a requirement for routine repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and components in accordance with the requirements set forth in the following Schedule of Articles. This excludes work on high voltage overhead and buried power transmission lines, transformers, poles, pole fuses/cut-outs, lightening arresters, etc. The purpose of this contract is to provide a combination of flexible and regular assistance to augment Patuxent staff in the performance of routine and cyclical electrical system maintenance at the facility. Services are to be provided on an as-needed basis in order to supplement federal staff on specific tasks, or to provide repairs and maintenance when individual federal employees are unavailable. This project is a small business set-aside therefore only small businesses may provide a quote. The proposed procurement will be a multiple year contract with the base year running from date of award through September 30, 2000 and three (3) option years which will run from October 1 through September 30, 2001, 2002 and 2003, contingent on availability of funds each fiscal year. The estimate for the base year will be $24,500 and $25,000 for each option year. This acquisition will be made under the simplified acquisition threshold of $100,000.
