The work to be performed requires that the Alcova Powerplant Generators Units 1 and 2 are rewound to a 100 percent power factor and both units be provided with new full static electronic exciters. The existing generator units 1 and 2 were furnished and installed by the Elliot Company in 1953 and are rated at 18,950 kva at 95 percent power factor. The work is located at Alcova Dam, approximately 32 miles southwest of Casper, Wyoming in Natrona County. The Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for May 1, 2000 at the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana, Room 2031. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets may be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge at the address mentioned above. All reasonable sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
