17 -- DEVELOP SUPPORT EQUIPMENT WITH THE CAPABILITY TO TRANSPORT, LIFT, HANDLE AND MATE THE ATFLIR RDU WRA TO THE ATFLIR PEH SOL N68335-00-R-0232 DUE 011700 POC POC Laurie Paz 732-323-4188 The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations with The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO to develop support equipment for the F-18 aircraft. The support equipment will have the capability to transport, lift, handle and mate the Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) Roll Drive Unit (RDU) for the Weapons Replaceable Assembly (WRA) to the ATFLIR Pod Electrical Housing (PEH) while mounted on the aircraft. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. Responses should reference N68335-00-R-0232. Information must be received no later than 17 January 2000. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
