Columbia Environmental Research Center, Columbia, MO. has a requirement
for a study to determine the effect of Brucella abortus RB51 vaccine on
female grizzly bear reproduction. Brucellosis is harbored by elk and
bison in the Greater Yellowstone area. The Contractor shall maintain up
to four adult female grizzly bears (two or four bears depending on the
availability of "problem bears"), and will supply access to bears for
a vaccine exposure study. Contractor shall assist with chemical and/or
physical restraint of bears for the purpose of feeding the vaccine,
assessing pregnancy of adult bears and collecting biological samples
from adults and cubs. Contractor shall be available to receive wild
"problem bears" that are transported at Government's expense to
Contractor's facility. The initial period of performance is date of
award through 9-30-00 with 2-12 month option period. Interested parties
