The bridge painting project consists of three dam control tower service bridges and one highway bridge. The service bridges are located at Nolin Lake, Taylorsville Lake and C.J. Brown Lake. The highway bridge is located in the tailwater of Caesar Creek Lake. The work involves removing, containing and disposing of the lead containing paint on the bridge structural steel and appurtenances. This includes bridge pivot points, conduit and any other accessories attached to the bridge that are currently painted. The bridge is to be painted with a high quality paint system designed for ferrous metals exposed to a harsh atmosphere. Special attention should be given to the safety and environmental issues associated with performing the work outlined above at heights up to 100' above a fresh water reservoir. The SIC Code is 1721. Estimated value of the project is $250,000.00-$500,000.00. THIS IS NOT A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Solicitation documents will be issued o/a 06 January 2000 and the last day for receipt of proposals will be o/a 08 February 2000. Proposals will be competitively negotiated. Award will be made as a whole to the offeror whose proposal is considered to be the most advantageous to the Government. Award will not be based entirely upon price but will also be subject to the following in descending order of importance: 1) Safety Plan, 2) Technical Approach/Management Plan, 3) Environmental and Health Protection Plan, and 4) Past performance and relevant experience.
