NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) on or about January 4, 2000 for the use of a commercial payload processing facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), CA for the EO-1/SAC-C spacecraft during the period of February 2000 through April 2000. The quoter shall provide facilities and services at VAFB, CA for processing the spacecraft during the required time period. Facility, communications, and mission support services will be specified in the RFQ. This procurement is being conducted under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items implemented by FAR Subpart 13.5, which permits the use of Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Therefore, the Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Subpart 13.5 and FAR Part 12. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3769 and 1000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ10-00-0009 is on or about January 4, 2000 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about January 11, 2000. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
