to the subject notice addresses questions raised by prospective
contractor(s). Question -- 1. Does the floating crane need to have any
special load testing or special certification prior to its use on the
NTPU Project? Answer: Yes, to 30 ton minimum. Question -- 2. If
special load testing or special certification is required, then who is
the inspection agency that must perform the inspection prior to use?
Answer: Crane operator(s) shall have certificate of completion of the
Crane Safety Associates of America, Inc. Safety Course. Crane requires
a Crane Inspection Report in accordance with ASME/ANSI B30.5. Question
-- 3. Is the crew of one (1) to be designated as the crane signalman,
or if not what specific trade background will this person be required
to work within? Answer: This crew of one (1) should be a signalman.
Question -- 4. Is transportation of the floating crane to/from the NTPU
Project sight inclusive within the fifteen (15) days performance
period? Answer: No, crane must be onsite for fifteen (15) days.
Question -- 5. Identify the working arrangements for the operator and
crew member. (A) Number of hours required to be worked on a daily
basis? (B) Will weekend work be required? (C) Is this fifteen (15) days
on a twenty-four (24) hour basis? Answers: (A)There will be ten (10)
hours workdays, beginning at 0600. (B)Yes, the requirement is for
fifteen (15) consecutive days. (C)Ten (10) hours workdays are required.
Question -- 6. -- What is the heaviest load that the crane will have to
lift? Answer: 36,000 Pounds. Question -- 7: What is the maximum
distance from the NPTU deck edge where the heaviest load is located to
be fitted? Answer: Cannot lift from the deck (pier) edge, spud barge
is required (Sub is 33'-0 diameter. Additional information: Crane needs
to be placed on a spud barge that will be secured to the river bottom
at a minimum of two (2) places (one forward and one aft). The
contractor needs to provide two (2) pusher/puller boats to position the
crane and spud barge at its proper position with a 100% assurance that
they do not lose control of the barge. The contractor will have to
position the barge a minimum of three (3) tiimes. As the tides get
later each day, work could start approx. one hour later each day. The
contractor may need to stay at least 2 extra days in the event the work
does not go as scheduled. Contractor will provide crane, operator, two
pushers boats with crew and maintain equipment while onsite. Crane
operator(s) shall have certificate of completion of the Crane Safety
