Military Sealift Command is conducting a market survey of firms who could provide via sale or long term lease/charter of floating commercial cranes. The floating crane, non-self propelled, would have to have the following capabilities: Load (Pounds) Outreach (From Center of Rotation) 224,000 60 224,000 80 210,000 90 188,000 105 152,000 120 118,000 140 94,000 150 80,000 175 Rated speed of the main hoist shall be 14 ft per minute (FPM). Two additional hoists are desired: A. An auxiliary hoist rated not less than 38,000 pound capacity at outreach up to 190 feet at a rated speed of 65 FPM B. A whip hoist rated not less than 10,000 pound capacity at outreach up to 215 feet at a rated speed of 200 FPM. 3. Rated speed requirements: A. Luffing from 175 feet to 60 feet with 80,000 pounds on main hoist in 6-9 minutes B. Slewing at 105 feet with 188,000 pounds on main hoist 1/3 RPM accelerating to that speed in 8 seconds Simultaneous operation the crane shall be capable of slewing and luffing at the rated speed while the main hoist is accelerated to the rated load on the hook. The Navy is seeking floating crane service in one or more of the following ports: Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, WA, Public Works Center, San Diego, CA, CBC Port Hueneme, CA, SUBBASE, New London, CT, TRF, Kings Bay, GA, US Naval Shipyard, Norfolk, VA, Public Works Center, Norfolk, VA, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, HI, Roosevelt Roads, PR Ship Repair Facility, Guam, La Maddelena, Italy, Rota, Spain, Sasebo, Japan. Offerors are requested to submit a technical description/response listing the key attributes of the cranes offered, as well as the purchase price and/or monthly/yearly leasing costs.
