The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with University of Connecticut, Groton, Connecticut for continued assistance with research program support and coordination for the U.S. Dept of Commerce, NOAA, Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Scituate, MA for the period January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1). University of Connecticut is the only known source capable of performing the required program coordination. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required equipment. Copies of the solicitation will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor.
