Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside
repairs including but not limited to the following base and option
items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel and Oil
Tank(s), (3) Install Waster Pieces, (4) Inspect and Test Cross Deck
Winches -- (Level I), (5) Inspect and Test Chain In-Haul Device --
(Level I), (6) Inspect and Test Hydraulic Chain Stoppers -- (Level I),
(7) Inspect and Test Boat Davits -- (Level I), (8) Inspect and Test
Buoy Crane -- (Level I), (9) Test Padeyes, (10) Preserve Forecastle,
(11) Install New Deck Covering, (12) Chief Mess Configuration, (13)
Ultrasonic Testing and (14) Provide Temporary Logistics. The vessel is
a 225 Foot Class Seagoing Buoy Tender. The vessel's homeport is
Newport, RI. The period of performance is for THIRTY-FIVE (35) days
commencing 03 APR 2000. The place of performance is the cutter's
homepier. All referenced documents are available for viewing at 300
East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now
available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and
will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from
solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advanced notice to
complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. Drawings are still available in
hardcopy; however, a $150.00 non-refundable charge of $150.00 is
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All businesses, large
and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirement.
Plans and specifications will be issued on or about 23 DEC 99. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the
