Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement on
behalf of the United States Marine Corps for a self-contained Field
Sanitation Unit (FSU), which shall provide the capability to properly
clean and sanitize food service equipment and comply with preventive
medicine regulations ensuring troop health and welfare. The Government
intends this procurement to be a commercial item acquisition utilizing
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial
Items'. This procurement is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The
Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3569 and the size standard
is 500 employees. The Government envisions the use of a Five (5) Year
(One Base Year, and Four Option Years) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP),
Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Exact
quantities for the FSU are not available at this time but will be
identified in the final CBD notice. The purpose of this initial
announcement is to inform industry of the Governments intention and to
provide an opportunity for interested firms to review and provide
questions and comments on the DRAFT Performance Description. The DRAFT
Performance Description, along with drawings of a system that was
developed under a separate contract, may be viewed at The AMC
Acquisition Center -- Natick On-Line Homepage, which is located at
http://www3.natick.army.mil. The drawings provided are for reference
purposes only and are not intended to direct prospective offerors to a
particular design or solution. The Government will accept questions
and comments concerning the DRAFT Performance Description up until the
issuance of the final CBD notice. Exact date is not known at this
time. Questions and comments shall be E-mailed to Mr. Thomas Bouchard,
Contract Specialist. Phone calls will not be accepted. All questions
and comments received on the Draft Performance Description will be
answered and posted on the Homepage with the RFP. In addition to
meeting the requirements in the Performance Description, an operators
manual and initial training of the system will be required. There is no
