The NRC intends to issue a Commercial Item, Firm Fixed Price, Delivery
Order Contract for a training course entitled "Pressurized Water
Reactor Maintenance Training Overview Course" The contractor shall
furnish the necessary qualified personnel, materials, services to
conduct a five day, forty hour training course through a combination of
hands-on operation of actual equipment, demonstrations, film and
classroom presentations, and other training aids. The contractor shall
be required to have a facility capable of hands-on training of
equipment involved in fuel movement such as upender, bridge and trolley
operations, long and short fuel handling tools, other refueling tools,
eddy current testing equipment, etc. The period of performance will be
for a five year period. The SIC code is 8299 with a business size
standard of $3.5M. Proposals for this requirement may be submitted by
all concerns, i.e., large businesses, small businesses, and small
businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically
disadvantaged individuals. Notice to large business: The subcontracting
plan requirements of P.L. 95-507 are applicable to this effort. Thus,
all large businesses determined to be in the competitive range must be
prepared to submit a detailed subcontracting plan. A source list
comprising the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all concerns
requesting a copy of the solicitation, with large businesses
identified by an asterisk, will be provided with the solicitation. In
order to identify large businesses on the list, a request for the
solicitation should indicate the size of the business based upon a sic
code of 8299. In order to allow small concerns sufficient time to
contact you for possible subcontracting opportunities, you are
encouraged to make your request for the solicitation prior to the
solicitation issuance date. A copy of the solicitation and all
subsequent amendment will be provided to each requester. The request
for proposal (RFP) will be issued approximately December 6, 1999, with
proposals due to NRC by 3:00 pm on December 28, 1999. The RFP can be
found on the Internet on or about the RFP issue date at
