The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Contract for the redsign of the Full Authority Digital Electrical Control (FADEC)for the F414-GE-400 Engine. The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), located at 1000 Western Avenue, Lynn, MA 01910-0445. The Statement of Work identifies specific tasks to include resign, manufacture, and testing of the FADEC to accomplish less sensitivity to component obsolescence. GEAE is the original manufacturer of the engine, and only known source possessing the requisite knowledge, experience, tooling, and technical data required to provide these services. See Note 22.
