E-MAIL: NA, rbudde@Dll.uscg.mil. The US Coast Guard, MLCP in Alameda, CA proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of the USCGC CHASE, a 378' high endurance cutter. The cutter's home moorage is San Diego, CA. Work will start on 13 March and complete on 5 May 2000, at a contractor's facility capable of drydocking the cutter. Work to be accomplished will include; Drydocking, underwater body preservation, piping renewal-boiler blow down, main gas turbine lube oil cooler installation, propulsion shaft mechanical seal inspection, recoat propulsion shaft, cpp system maintenance, asw piping renewal and valve overhaul, ground tackle overhaul, bow prop unit inspect and test, rudder, rudder stock inspeciton and maintenance, bow prop maintenance freeboard preservation bilge preservation and possibly forward and aft mast preservation. An invitation for bid (IFB) will be issued on 14 Dec 1999, in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, The Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-ownd and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportaiton-related contracts.
