The purpose of this notice is to identify interested, capable sources to manufacture various build-to-print prototype components and assemblies for the wing flap actuation system on the C-141 Cargo Aircraft based on technical data provided by CACI-ASG. Applicable contractor screening criteria for this sources sought notice are: production capability and in-plant engineering support for the manufacture, heat treatment, finish, inspection(s), documentation and assembly of the various castings, gears and other components as applicable. Outsourcing of specialized technical processes is permitted. In addition to the manufactured items, the assemblies/assembly require(s) the acquisition of various MIL-SPEC items and/or commercial off-the-shelf items. CACI-ASG will subject all newly manufactured prototype components to form, fit, & functional testing, and environmental testing. In addition, the components will be subjected to metallurgical analysis as applicable. Firms selected will be awarded a subcontract for this effort. Firms having the ability to provide this service should notify Mr. Scott Gray in writing by COB 12/23/99 (3:00 PM CST). After successful testing, and evaluation of workmanship, materials, accuracy, price and production, the overall performance will be evaluated for the purpose of qualifying a vendor(s) for future government procurement of the components, various assemblies and their related parts.
