NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation RFQ5-65701-988 on a sole source basis for the following products: Qty 1: PCI-DIF-I Data Capture Board; P/N DCS-000-0200 Qty 1: PCI-DIF-O Data Export Board; P/N DCS-001-0200 Qty 1: Vexcel VXDCS Software; P/N DCS-002-0200-ATM This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This short term Data Capture System will support the Aqua Mission end to end testing. The use of this system will insure a seamless integration with the current EDOS System. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Vexcel Corporation who supplied the required hardware, software, and integration on the current EDOS System. These products are proprietary and only available from the Vexcel Corporation. The Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
