The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking sources capable of providing a support trailer, which will be towed by an M-1097A2 HMMWV-HV for the Air Surveillance and Precision Approach Radar Control System (ASPARCS) Operations Subsystem (OS)/Communications Subsystem (CS). NAWCAD seeks information regarding industry's approach to the following trailer requirements. In addition, information relating to the following specific attributes is requested, including performance, design, physical attributes, recommended construction materials, recommended GENSET and ECU, and integration requirements for this equipment. An overall ASPARCS acquisition goal is to purchase Non-Developmental Item (NDI)/Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) equipment. The trailer shall be constructed of lightweight materials, which permit the entire trailer and payload to remain within the allowable towing weight of the HMMWV-HV. The trailer must have an installed 30kW diesel-generator set (GENSET), a 50 gal. Fuel tank, a 96,000BTU/hour environmental control system (ECU) and a cargo area. Additionally, the trailer must use common parts for the braking system and wheels that are available worldwide. The trailer's GVWR shall not exceed 4200 lbs. including cargo and fuel. The trailer shall not exceed 180" in length nor 86" in width, nor 85" in height inclusive of load. The track width shall be 71.6" as measured tire centerline to tire centerline. Axle clearance shall be not less than 15" fully loaded and no other portion of the trailer shall extend below the axle. Tires and rims shall be identical to the HMMWV-HV. Interested parties are requested to submit a statement with a description of system and components along with the requested information described above, any brochures or pictures available and any other ideas, suggestions or comments.
