The United States Postal Service (USPS) is conducting a Prequalification to select the "best in class" suppliers capable of providing a Virtual Private Network for USPS remote access and business partner connectivity. The USPS currently has over 50,000 dial-in users with an anticipated growth of an additional 1000 per month, plus over 100 existing business to business (B2B) users across the USA and international locations. Remote users and B2B connectivity is currently being accomplished through Point to Point Protocol (PPP) dial-up Network Access. VPN must be compliant with IPSec and FIPS 140-1 standards. Not all qualified suppliers will be determined pre-qualified. USPS issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) is contingent on funding availability, affordability, and cost savings. Only suppliers determined pre-qualified will be eligible to receive a RFP.
