Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering
Agreement N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly
owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO
62166-0516, to provide support to assess the fatigue life of the
airframe from a current usage perspective. McDonnell Douglas
Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the
F/A-18 aircraft, and is the only known firm possessing adequate
existing knowledge, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to
provide the engineering support required to perform the Service Life
Assessment effort on the F/A-18 aircraft in a timely manner. This
