Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision to perform the following work: remove existing paint, rust, and surface contaminants from existing stone and metal surfaces, including exterior walls and all lantern components; disassembly of the lantern, including portecting the historic Fresnel lens is required; remove glass block from 4 openings in the tower; repoint the interior brickwork in the tower; repair existing exerior stonework, including patching stones with Jahn mortar, replacing broken stones with new brown sandstone, resetting loose and out-of-plane stones, and repointing in various locations; new heavy-duty aluminum casement windows with muntins in 4 existing openings; metalwork repairs in the lantern, including cast iron vent hood repairs and replacement castings, deck repairs, and new stainless steel air registers and astragals; new glazing in the lantern (all 10 panes); replacing a broken cast iron stair tread with a new tread cast to match existing treads, including priming and painting the new tread; painting all iron and steel lantern components, including the roof, wall panels, decks, railings, astragals and interior surfaces; painting the lower portion of the exterior stonework white. Optional bid item includes the following work: removing existing paint, rust and surface contaminants from existing stair components; paint the existing stair components, including risers, tread, support column, iron railings, hand holds, and landings.
