COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 18,1999 PSA#2478US Army, CECOM, Logistics and Engineering Operations Directorate, Fort
Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000 59 -- MARKET SURVEY FOR A REPLACEMENT OF THE POWER SUPPLY PP-7545( )/U
DUE 121799 POC Peter Cygan, Electrical Engineer 732-427-4920 E-MAIL:
CECOM POC, cygan@mail1.monouth.army.mil. A competitive procurement of
commercial off the shelf (COTS), or modified COTS is being considered
to replace the existing power supplies PP-7545( )/U, procured under
various NSNs. Sources are sought which can meet the following
characteristics: Performance Requirements: a.) Input: voltage (230VAC
+/- 10%); frequency (57 to 63 Hz); current (18A, maximum); single phase
b.) Output: voltage (0-40VDC); current (0-50A) c.) Load regulation:
constant voltage (less than 0.01%+200 microVolts for a load current
change equal to the current rating of the supply); constant current
(less than 0.02%+2mA for a load voltage change equal to the voltage
rating of the supply) d.) Line regulation: constant voltage (less than
0.01%+200 microVolts for a change in line voltage from 207VAC to
253VAC at any output voltage and current within the rating); constant
current (less than 0.02% + 2mA for a change in line voltage from 207VAC
to 253VAC at any output voltage and current within the rating) e.)
Ripple and Noise: constant voltage (less than 1 mV rms, 5 mV peak to
peak: DC to 20 MHz); constant current (less than 25 mA rms) f.)
Temperature Rating: operating (0 to 55 deg. C); storage (-40 to 75 deg.
C) g.) Temperature Coefficient following 30 minutes warm-up: constant
voltage (less than 0.01%+200 microVolts change in output per degree
centigrade change in ambient); constant current (less than 0.01%+4 mA
change in output per degree centigrade change in ambient) h.) Stability
following 30 minutes warm-up under constant ambient conditions:
constant voltage (less than 0.03%+2 mV total drift for 8 hours);
constant current (less than 0.03%+10 mA total drift for 8 hours)
Operational requirements: a.) Meters: a front panel voltmeter (0-50V)
and an ammeter (0-60A), accurate to within 2% of full scale b.) Output
Controls: single turn coarse and fine voltage and current controls on
the front panel c.) Output Terminals: both output bus bars located on
the rear and isolated from the chassis, either one positive or
negative bus bar connectable to the chassis through a separate adjacent
ground terminal d.) Remote Voltage Programming: all programming
terminals on the rear barrier strip; constant voltage (200 ohms per
Volt with 1% accuracy), constant current (4 ohms per ampere with 10%
accuracy) e.) Remote Resistance Programming: all programming terminals
on the rear barrier strip; constant voltage (accuracy 1%), constant
current (accuracy 10%) f.) Other Operating Modes (obtainable by
utilizing different strapping patterns on the terminals of the rear
barrier strip: Auto-Parallel Operation -- a master slave connection of
two or more power supplies to obtain greater current than from one
supply; Auto-Series Operation -- a master slave connection of two or
more power supplies to obtain greater voltage than from one supply;
Auto-Tracking Operation -- a master slave connection of two or more
power supplies, each of which has one of its output terminals in common
with one of the output terminals of all the other supplies; Remote
Sensing or remote error sensing -- a power supply monitors the
stabilized voltage directly at the load using extra sensing leads. g.)
Overvoltage Protection Crowbar -- the minimum crowbar trip setting
above the operating output voltage to prevent false crowbar tripping
(5% of output voltage setting plus 2 Volts) h.) Cooling: forced air
cooling designed by manufacturer based on required outputs and
performance requirements. Physical Requirements: a.) Max Weight: 98 lbs
(44 kg) maximum b.) Max Perpendicular Dimensions: 6.812" H x 18.875" D
x 19.0" W (17.3 cm x 47.94 cm x 48.3 cm) Posted 11/16/99 (D-SN401210).
