This modification 02 to previous Presolicitation Notice, Request for Quotation Number DTRS56-00-Q-0001 is to change the Response Date from November 12, 1999 to read November 16, 1999 and to change the anticipated Award Date from November 15, 1999 to read November 17, 1999. All other aspects of the Notice remain unchanged. Line Item 001 is for the Lease of 61 Satellite Telephones. Item 001 -- Lease of 61 Iridium Satellite Phones, or equal, with two (2) Months Service. Satellite phones must be independent of land-based telecommunications. Lease Period from December 1, 1999 through January 31, 2000. Line Item 002 is for the Purchase of 61 SIM Cards. Item 002 -- Purchase of 61 Iridium SIM Cards, or equal to operate with the satellite phones specified in item 001 above. The SIM cards allow the units to operate and designate specific telephone numbers for the unit. Eight (8) of the SIM cards (chips) are required for delivery no later than two (2) days after date of award. The balance of the cards are due on or before receipt (December 1, 1999) of the satellite phones referenced in item 001 above. This requirement is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ)- DTRS56-00-Q-0001. Award shall be made utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The items requested must meet the criteria established for satellite telephones independent of land-based telecommunications. The anticipated award date is November 17, 1999.
