66 -- AUTOGEN 850 SOL DL00028 DUE 112499 POC Contact Point, Dee Lunney, Contracting Officer, 919-541-0387 The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Autogen, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the purchase of a AutoGen 850 Alpha (BAC & YAC) with Heater Module. At a minimum, the AutoGen system shall be fully automated for isolation of DNA, have the capability to process, unattended, up to 48 samples in 4-6 hours, have 6 independent reagent reservoirs, integral 24 sample swinging bucket rotor centrifuge and XYZ robotics sample handling, menu driven, microprocessor controlled, utilize a patented chemistry for nucleic acid,, shall process 12-48 cultures in disp. centrifuge tube units, ability to process 0.5-3.0 ml volumes, and shall provide high quality DNA for direct use. System shall be floor-standing. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received an order will be placed with AutoGen.
